Hi, I’m Izzy.

I have worked in mental health crisis for nearly a decade now, at a radical survivor-led, person-centred, trauma informed charity. It is through this work that I have learned the most, having worked with a huge variety of people and situations.

I am especially passionate about working with complex trauma, having seen it so frequently as part of the histories of people in crisis, and having seen how little understanding there is, and how hard it can be be for people with complex trauma to access support and the right therapy.

I am late-diagnosed autistic, so have experienced first hand how hard it is to grow up feeling so different but not knowing why. I aim for my practice to be accessible and useful for anyone who is neurodivergent and disabled.

In my free time, I love history, folk music and sewing. I love a gentle walk in nature, and researching my family history.

My Approach

I’m an integrative counsellor, which means I use aspects from many different approaches and theories to best work with you. Every person is unique, with their own needs, histories, struggles and strengths, so I aim to tailor my therapy to best meet your needs.

So what can you expect from me? I am often described as being very gentle and calm, and will usually start work with someone in a very non-directive, person centred way, but we can agree in our first session if you’d like to work a little differently. We can use different exercises, use creativity, or just talk, whatever works best for you. My aim is always to understand you, and know you as deeply and genuinely as I can, which can then help you know and understand yourself.
